Bud's life at the Velvetfoxtrotters started at 0740am on 03-20-08.. Imprint  training and other things were completed by noon that day...

Day two started with coffee with Dr. Larry Mages,then a nap before starting halter training and letting mama Katie have a break to do some grazing..

 Imprinting done,,, it will be repeated many times...

 Hi my name is "Mr C.D.Cloud Dancer" aka "Bud" I'm the junior stallion halter, world champion around here...

 Listen old man,,my name is Bud and I'm da junior stud,, so how about getting me a halter that fits...

"Breaktime" I like that the best of all this training stuff.,

   He must have something for us somewhere,,,

So this is what it is like to be a coat rack,,,

Communication about riding is taking place,,,

And today was the day for the first ride,,,

Oh no,, not the dreaded "carry the dead cow"  (saddle) training,,,

Watch me Foxtrot right out of here,,,

 This guy operates on string and hand signals,,,

As Bud leaves home,, he leaves behind many sweet memories  of fun times

and lots of hard work,, but also an old man on his knees crying like a baby,,

As he left home he was quite proficient in many task,,,

Stands for trimming of feet..

Leads with or without leadrope..

Loads and rides in trailer like an old pro.

Stands to be sadled..

Here is Bud again,, now a 2year old perfect gelding,, ready to go to finishing school this summer...

All passengers must be seated before we depart for an enjoyable ride....

I would have gone around this gravel pile,,, but I can rest here just as well... P.S. Gravel piles were much bigger where I grew up..

Bud  is done with school and ready to hit the trail,, rumor has it he almost gave his trainer as many wet tee shirt's as she gave him wet blankets... I'm sure Mary will be happy to ride either Bear or Bud,, they both have big motor's and even bigger heart's....

There is something about love and understanding in equine relationships...

The very best  things in  life are beyond words...
